Favorite Summer Reads

'' A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies,
a man who never reads lives only one. ''

Hello everyone, in today's post I've decided to share with you some of my favorite summer reads and some of my favorite books of all time. I have always loved reading and it is one of my biggest passions. Reading always calms me whenever I feel stressed out, because it simply transports me into another world and lets me forget about my worries. As we lose ourselves into the words of the book, we find ourselves too and we learn many new things and experience everything through the lives of the characters. So, here are a few of my favorite books and recommendations for lazy summer reads by the beach. I will not be giving any spoilers, so don't worry, you will still be able to enjoy the book if you buy it yourself.

- Number one definitely has to be '' Girl Online '' by the one and only Zoe Sugg aka Zoella. I read this book in one sitting, and that is saying something as it's quite a hefty book. It is about a sixteen-year-old girl called Penny which has an anonymous blog called Girl Online. Penny suffers with anxiety and it is also one of the aspects of the book I really like because not many books deal with such issues. In short, when things go from bad to worse at school, Penny goes to New York with her family and there meets Noah aka Brooklyn Boy. But as well as Penny, Noah also holds a secret which may cause a divide between them. Also, it's set at Christmas time which is great for all of you Christmas lovers such as myself. It is a wonderful, cozy and feel-good book and amazing all time read and I would definitely say you try it out, even if you are not a book lover.

Another one of my absolute favorites which I am sure you have all heard of and loved is '' The Fault In Our Stars '' by the amazing John Green. Such a sad, heart-breaking book which will not leave you dry-eyed. It is about a girl called Hazel Grace who suffers with cancer and a boy Augustus Waters who is a cancer survivor. Their love will break you heart, but also make you feel warm inside while you read about two teenagers suffering from a terminal disease, but still love with all their hearts. The book is filled with beautiful quotes and a few of my favorites are: " The world is not a wish-granting factory '' and '' Some infinities are bigger than other infinities ''. I would a hundred percent recommend this book to you, but prepare tissues!

- On a more light-hearted note and a great summer read, there is '' The Secret Dreamworld of A Shopaholic '' by Sophie Kinsella. It is the first book of the very popular book series and it is surely one of my faves. Funny, hilarious and awesome, this chick-flick novel tells the story of Rebecca Bloomwood who is a shopaholic and isn't afraid to admit it! A perfect summer read and totally relatable story which will make you smile. Also check out other books of this series as they are also amazing!

- '' Perks of being a wallflower '' by Stephen Chbosky isn't just an amazing summer read, it is one of my favorite books of all time. Heart-wrenching, tear-jerking and incredibly sad at the same time as being  funny and relatable, it has everything I love in a book. It tells the story of Charlie who is a freshman in high school and whose best friend committed suicide. We learn a lot about Charlie through his letters which is the way the book is written and I couldn't love it more. I felt a lot like Charlie in many situations in my life and I have loved reading his stories and him meeting new friends and handling life in school. This is also a popular film which features, among other great actors, Emma Watson one of my favorite actresses. A must read for me!

- One of my favorite book series is the '' Game of Thrones: A Song Of Ice and Fire '' series by George RR Martin. A fantasy story set in the world of dragons and royalty fighting over power. It is simply brilliant, at times a bit gory and scary but worth reading nonetheless. I was amazed by George RR Martin's imagination and the world he has created. If you are not a fan of books, especially since these ones are quite long, I recommend you the TV show which is based on this book, it is perfect as well.

- And for my final book recommendation, it would have to be another book by John Green called '' Looking for Alaska ''. When I first started reading it, I thought it was going to be an adventure book but it is so much more and deeper than that. The main character Q is a bit of a geek and is obsessed with last words of famous people and as he goes to college he meets Alaska a cool girl who is a bookworm but adventurous and fun as well. The ending shocked me and I was left in tears! I would suggest you read '' Looking for Alaska '' because I am sure you will love it just as much as I did.

- That would be it for this list, I hope you guys have enjoyed it and it has given you some inspiration for future reads. Also as you may have noticed I have decided to use my own photos for this one, so I hope you like them as well and they are not disappointing. I would love to know your favorite books too so please leave them in the comments.

A list of all of them

Until next time. Lots of love, M xxx
